Google publishes official guide for YouTube audio advertising
Google has launched its first standalone help page that details how to create and run audio ads on YouTube and YouTube Music. The guide consolidates format specifications, campaign setup steps and creative best‑practice recommendations that were previously scattered across broader documentation.
Advertisers must upload a YouTube video as the creative, typically using a static image or simple animation. Video length determines the ad experience: spots of up to 15 seconds are non‑skippable, while 16‑ to 30‑second videos are skippable. Campaigns are built under the Brand awareness and reach objective, using the Audio video campaign subtype and Target CPM bidding. The page does not introduce a new product, but signals Google’s effort to make its audio inventory easier for marketers to test and implement.
The new resource is intended to help brands increase recognition and reach users during listening‑first experiences across YouTube’s audio‑focused surfaces.
