Google hikes YouTube Premium subscription fees in Germany

Google announced a price increase for its YouTube Premium service in Germany. The standard individual plan rises from €12.99 to €14.99 per month, while the family plan goes from €23.99 to €27.99. Student subscriptions increase from €7.49 to €8.99, and the entry‑level Premium Lite tier jumps from €5.99 to €7.99, a rise of about 33 %.

YouTube Music Premium also sees higher rates: the individual plan moves to €11.99, the family plan to €18.99, the student plan to €5.99, and the annual plan to €119.99. The new prices apply to both new customers and existing subscribers from their next billing cycle, with Google indicating the changes support platform development and higher operating costs.

Google communicated the adjustments via email to current users, noting that acceptance of the new terms may be required before the updated fees take effect.
