Google expands Gemini AI across products and regions

Google announced a series of Gemini‑branded AI expansions. The company entered a strategic partnership with pi‑labs and Google Cloud to provide mission‑ready AI solutions for India, and was named a Leader in IDC’s 2026 MarketScape for foundation‑model software, highlighting its Gemini model family.

Gemini Spark, the 24‑hour autonomous AI agent, was rolled out to Turkey, Japan and other markets, initially for Google AI Ultra subscribers and soon for Pro members. New Workspace integrations let Spark edit Docs, Sheets and Slides, read comments, add images and operate up to 50 % faster.

Google added Gemini‑powered features to consumer services: Gmail now supports custom prompts and undo/redo in its Help Me Write tool; Google Maps’ “Ask Maps” chatbot and Waze’s conversational reporting both use Gemini to answer natural‑language queries and suggest routes. Leaks indicate the upcoming Gemini 3.5 Pro model will offer a 2‑million‑token context window and a “Deep Think” reasoning layer, with a tentative general‑availability date of 17 July.

In India, Google announced on‑premise Gemini deployment via Google Distributed Cloud for regulated enterprises, alongside new security tools such as Sec‑Gemini V3 and the open‑source CAPSEM runtime. Additional open standards aim to protect AI‑driven transactions. The breadth of these announcements underscores Google’s push to embed Gemini across enterprise, education and consumer platforms worldwide.
