Google releases Android 17 QPR2 Beta 7 for Pixel devices

Android 17 QPR2 Beta 7 Google Pixel software update battery drain fix

Google has released the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 7 update for supported Pixel devices. This release focuses on stability and bug fixes as the company approaches a stable release expected in December.

Key improvements in this beta include a fix for excessive battery drain during idle states. This issue was caused by the ‘Flip to Shh’ feature preventing devices from entering deep sleep. Additionally, the update addresses a bug where HTTPS downloads would fail immediately when initiated through the system DownloadManager.

The update is available for a range of devices from the Pixel 6a through the Pixel 11 series. Users can access the update via the Android Beta Program or through available OTA images.
