Google rolls out Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 for Pixel devices

Google has begun rolling out the Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 update for a wide range of Pixel devices, including the Pixel 6a through the Pixel 11 series, the Pixel Tablet, and the Pixel Fold. This Quarterly Platform Release (QPR) serves as a testing phase for a stable version expected to launch in March 2027.

The update focuses heavily on system stability and resolving approximately 20 documented bugs. Critical fixes include addressing device freezes during fingerprint sensor unlocking, resolving eSIM profile deactivation issues, and fixing modem-related crashes that caused loss of cellular signal. Other addressed issues involve Wi-Fi reconnection failures, NFC service crashes, and various media playback or user interface glitches.

In addition to bug fixes, the beta introduces minor interface refinements, such as a new dedicated Notes tile in the Quick Settings for Pixel 11 users and expanded Gemini Intelligence system assets. Users currently in the Android Beta program are cautioned that opting out after installing this beta will require a device wipe to return to the stable channel.
