Google releases August 2026 Android and Play services updates

Google has released the August 2026 system updates for Android, specifically affecting Google Play services (v26.34) and the Google Play Store (v53.0). The updates introduce several improvements to device connectivity and account management.

Key connectivity features include the ability to access phone files from a laptop and the capacity to view and manage phone notifications on a tablet or a device referred to in the changelog as a ‘Googlebook’. Additionally, the update improves eSIM transfers between devices.
