Google Chrome 150 adds back button and menu overhaul to Android

Google began rolling out Chrome 150 for Android in early July 2026 via the Google Play Store. The update introduces a dedicated back button inside the three‑dot overflow menu, matching a feature long available on iOS. It also removes the long‑standing info button, replaces it with a new “Site controls” section for quick permission management, and renames “Add to Home screen” to “Install and create shortcut”. Bookmark and download icons have been shifted rightward for easier thumb reach.

In addition to the UI changes, Chrome 150 patches 433 security vulnerabilities – 20 classified as critical – and paid roughly $319,000 in bounty rewards. The patch forces HTTPS‑first connections, retires Manifest V2 extension support, and deepens integration with Google Wallet. A built‑in Gemini Spark AI assistant is also added, allowing users to run prompts directly within a tab. The combined security and usability upgrades affect all Android devices that receive the update.
