Google makes Gemini Daily Brief free for US users

Google is expanding access to its Gemini Daily Brief feature, making it available for free to personal Google account holders in the United States. Previously, this personalized morning summary required a paid Google AI subscription. The tool utilizes Personal Intelligence to aggregate information from Gmail, Google Calendar, and previous Gemini interactions to organize tasks into sections such as ‘Top of mind’ for urgent items, ‘FYI’ for scheduled appointments, and ‘Looking ahead’ for long-term goals.

In addition to the Daily Brief rollout, Google has introduced Gemini 3.8 Flash, a model optimized for speed and complex reasoning, specifically targeting software development and autonomous AI agents. While the Daily Brief is free for US users, the 3.8 Flash model remains restricted to Pro and Ultra subscribers in certain consumer applications like Google Sheets and Search.

Separately, Google is addressing software stability for its hardware. The Pixel 11 series has received multiple unplanned emergency updates in September to resolve critical bugs and performance issues reported by users. Other ecosystem updates include new accessibility features via Gemini Live and interface improvements for Google Keep and Android Auto.
