Google removes Pixel Tablet and tablet category from official store
Google has removed the Pixel Tablet and its entire product category from its official online store. The removal appears to be a silent discontinuation, as the tablet was already out of stock and the category menu has vanished from the Google Store navigation.
Launched in 2023, the Pixel Tablet was designed as a hybrid device that functions as both an Android tablet and a smart home display when used with its Charging Speaker Dock. Despite this unique proposition, the device struggled to compete in a market dominated by Apple and Samsung. Reports indicate that Google had previously canceled plans for a second-generation model due to profitability concerns.
While the hardware is no longer available for purchase through Google or major third-party retailers, the company has committed to providing software and security updates for existing owners until June 2028. Some accessories, such as cases and speaker docks, may still be visible or available in limited capacities.
