Google resolves YouTube and YouTube TV black screen bug

Google has resolved a technical issue that caused black or empty screens on YouTube and YouTube TV. The bug prevented video thumbnails from loading and, in some instances, left the homepages completely blank.

On the main YouTube service, users often saw text but lacked video imagery, making the interface difficult to navigate. The issue was more severe on YouTube TV, where users reported entirely empty homepages or missing video information. While some users attempted to fix the problem by clearing app cache and data, these measures only provided temporary relief.

Reports of the malfunction originated significantly from Texas, though the impact appeared to be broader. Because the fix was applied on the server side, most users should see the service restored without needing to install manual updates.
