Google rolls out AI image tools in Workspace and expands Gemini personalization in the US

Google has added an AI image generation and editing app called Google Pics to its core Google Workspace suite. The feature is enabled by default for all paying customers on Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus and related AI tiers. Administrators can keep it active for the whole organization or limit it to specific groups, but must manually disable it if they do not want it. Google says existing Workspace data protections automatically cover Pics, yet legal, brand and security teams are advised to review data handling, image ownership and design‑asset workflows.

Separately, Google expanded free personalized image generation in the Gemini app to eligible personal Google accounts in the United States. Powered by the Nano Banana 2 model, the feature can draw on context from connected Google services such as Photos, Gmail, YouTube and Search, with user consent, to create images tailored to an individual’s life and preferences. The rollout is limited to US personal accounts and does not include Workspace business or enterprise accounts, drawing a clear line between consumer‑focused AI beta experiences and enterprise‑ready deployments.
