Google rolls out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 7 to Pixel devices

Google has begun rolling out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 7 (build CP31.260623.005) to eligible Pixel smartphones enrolled in the Android Beta program. The update, which includes the July 2026 security patch, focuses on stability and bug fixes rather than new features. Key issues addressed are the reverse‑wireless‑charging failure in the Battery Share Quick Settings tile, a crash in the Quick Settings font‑size controller, and an empty gap that appeared between the battery and mobile‑data icons after Wi‑Fi was turned off. The beta also restores the centered taskbar layout for external displays. Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, previously omitted from earlier betas, are back in the testing pool, indicating Google’s intent to support these older flagships through the final QPR release expected in September 2026.
