Google TV's Gemini AI enables voice‑controlled settings on select TCL TVs
Google is rolling out Gemini, an AI‑driven feature for Google TV that lets users adjust television hardware settings with voice commands. The integration allows hands‑free control of picture modes, brightness, contrast, volume, bass, and other audio‑video parameters, and can automatically troubleshoot issues such as a dark screen or muffled dialogue.
The initial deployment is limited to certain 2025‑2026 TCL models sold in the United States and requires Android TV OS 14 or later. TCL will have an exclusive 60‑day window before the feature may expand to other Google TV manufacturers. Users can issue prompts like “Set picture mode to Sport” or “Increase the bass,” and Gemini will apply the changes directly, bypassing the traditional menu navigation.
The rollout is being delivered gradually over the coming weeks, targeting the upcoming summer sports season, and includes deep‑linking to specific settings screens when manual fine‑tuning is needed.
