Google rolls out Photo Shuffle for Pixel phones and Gemini visual search in Chrome

Google is developing a new Photo Shuffle feature for its Pixel smartphones. The code discovered in the Android 17 QPR1 beta 5 build would let users create a photo album that automatically cycles as the device’s wallpaper, with change intervals of an hour, a day, sunrise/sunset and more. The feature is expected to pull images from Google Photos, extending the existing limited shuffle option.

In parallel, Google has updated the Gemini integration in the desktop version of Chrome. The new visual‑search tool, dubbed Circle to Search, lets users draw boxes around parts of a webpage and ask questions about the selected content. Implemented in Chrome version 149, it can handle multiple selections and is designed for tasks such as comparing products, extracting diagram details, or repurposing visual elements.
