Google rolls out Wear OS 7 for Pixel Watch with longer battery and Gemini AI

Google has begun rolling out Wear OS 7 to eligible Pixel Watch models, including the Pixel Watch 2, 3 and the upcoming 2026 releases. The update brings a roughly 10 % improvement in battery life over Wear OS 6, achieved through power‑management optimisations.

New features include Live Updates, which push real‑time information such as food‑delivery status or package tracking directly to the watch face, and an audio‑output switch that lets users control music playback on any connected Google device without needing the phone nearby. Gemini, Google’s generative‑AI platform, is being introduced on selected 2026‑era watches, enabling voice‑driven widget creation, multi‑step task automation and personal‑intelligence access to Gmail, Docs and search history.

While Gemini will initially be limited to certain models released in 2026, the broader Wear OS 7 upgrade is already available for existing Pixel Watch devices, expanding the smartwatch’s role as a smart‑home hub and productivity assistant.
