Google Street View updates Uruguay imagery after 11 years

Google Street View has updated its imagery across Uruguay for the first time in 11 years. The new data, captured between March 2025 and June 2026, replaces much of the existing material that dated back to 2015.

The update includes major cities and departments such as Montevideo, Maldonado, Rocha, Canelones, Minas, Paysandú, Salto, Durazno, and Tacuarembó. Notably, the coverage has expanded to include several localities that previously lacked service, such as Belén in the Salto department, Tranqueras in Rivera, Lascano in Rocha, Guichón in Paysandú, and Mariscala in Lavalleja.

In the city of Salto, the new photographs were recorded in February 2026, allowing for a more current virtual view of the urban landscape compared to the decade-old images previously available.
