Google to unveil next‑gen Gemini‑powered Home speaker next week
Google's Chief Product Officer for Home and Nest, Anish Kattukaran, sent an email to participants of the Gemini for Home early‑access program, revealing that a new Google Home speaker will be announced within days. The program, launched in October, has attracted more than 3.5 million early‑access users, whose feedback has driven over 2,500 bug fixes and more than 50 major feature updates. The Gemini for Home experience now runs in 20 countries and supports 10 languages, with improvements to the Google Home app, camera functionality, automation, and partner device reliability.
Kattukaran’s message ends with a clear teaser, asking users to watch their inboxes for a “certain speaker” announcement next week. Prior leaks suggested a June 25 shipment date, indicating that Google plans to disclose the new Gemini‑powered smart speaker—its first major Home speaker launch in years—very soon.
