Google Trends data shows rising interest in irrigation in Victoria

Google Trends data indicates that searches for “drip irrigation” in the Wimmera region have risen seasonally over the past five years, peaking in early 2026 due to higher-than-average summer temperatures.

During this period, searches for “what is drip irrigation” and “gardening tips” also saw significant increases. This surge in interest may coincide with the 2026 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show held in March. While interest in “vegetable gardening” remains relatively stable, data shows that approximately 48% of Victorians grow their own food.
