Google raises prices for Google TV Streamer and Nest smart home devices
Google has implemented price increases for several smart home products in the United States, citing rising component costs. The Google TV Streamer 4K saw a significant 50% price hike, rising from $99.99 to $149.99. This adjustment follows similar trends from competitors like Amazon and Apple, who have also raised prices on streaming devices due to increased memory and storage component costs.
In addition to the streaming device, Google has raised prices for much of its Nest security lineup. Most Nest cameras and doorbells have seen increases ranging from $20 to $50. For example, the Nest Cam Outdoor (wired, 2nd gen) increased from $149.99 to $199.99, and various Nest Doorbell models have risen to $199.99.
While these changes are currently active in the U.S. market via the Google Store and Best Buy, some international markets like the UK, Germany, and Spain have not yet seen these specific price adjustments. Some retailers, such as Amazon, may still list products at their original prices for a limited time.
