Google update improves Samsung Galaxy Watch GPS accuracy

A Google Play Services update is improving GPS tracking precision for Samsung Galaxy Watch users running Wear OS. The update utilizes server-side processing of location data to overcome hardware limitations, resulting in more accurate route mapping and distance calculations for outdoor activities like running and cycling.

Users with LTE-enabled models will experience real-time improvements in accuracy. For Wi-Fi-only models, the refined GPS data will be processed once the device reconnects to a smartphone or Wi-Fi network. The update is being deployed automatically in the background.
