Google uses BTS to teach users how to interact with Gemini AI
Google is utilizing the K-pop group BTS to teach users how to interact with its Gemini AI. Rather than focusing on traditional utility descriptions like email drafting or document summarization, the company has integrated BTS-themed interactive experiences directly into the Gemini application.
Starting August 24, users can access specific features by entering commands such as “Unlock BTS” or “7777”. These experiences allow fans to explore questions asked by BTS members, play song-guessing games, track tour schedules, and practice Korean language skills.
This strategy aims to address the challenge of prompt engineering, where users often struggle to know how to effectively query an AI. By using a popular fandom as a “guided interface,” Google provides concrete scenarios—such as travel planning or language translation—to demonstrate the practical capabilities of the chatbot through subjects users already care about.
