Google Wallet adds kid‑friendly spending feature in United States

Google has launched a new Google Wallet option that lets parents create a digital spending balance for children under 18. Using the Family Link parental‑control system, parents can top up the balance, set daily spending limits, receive real‑time transaction notifications and remotely lock or disable the account if needed. The feature works on Android phones and Wear OS devices wherever Google Pay is accepted, and does not require the child to have a traditional bank account.

The service is currently available only in the United States, with Google indicating it may roll out to other regions after the initial trial period. It builds on earlier updates that allowed kids to store tickets, library cards and gift cards in Google Wallet, expanding the platform’s supervised financial tools for families.
