Google Wallet receives update with new receipt scanning feature

Google has released an update to Google Play Services (version 26.40) that introduces several new features to Google Wallet for Android users.

A primary addition is the ability to scan and store physical receipts directly within the app, eliminating the need for manual data entry to maintain a digital paper trail.

Other updates include an in-app message center for service notifications, improved clarity for merchant names in transaction notifications, and a streamlined payment process for users utilizing Google Pay through Chrome on Android, which allows them to skip certain payment request interfaces.
