Googlebooks and MacBooks compared in new laptop design review

A comparison of the new Googlebook lineup and Apple's MacBook series highlights differences in design, manufacturing, and connectivity. Googlebooks are produced by various partners, including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, featuring metal chassis and screen sizes ranging from 13 to 15 inches.

While Googlebooks generally offer more diverse port options, such as legacy USB Type-A and HDMI-out connections, Apple's MacBook Air maintains a more consistent chassis design. The MacBook Air utilizes Thunderbolt 4 ports alongside a dedicated MagSafe power connection, whereas some Googlebook models, like the Dell XPS version, are more limited in connectivity.
