Gopalganj: Four laborers die in septic tank accident
Four laborers died due to asphyxiation after becoming trapped in a septic tank in the Sawanahi Gopal village of Gopalganj district, Bihar, on Saturday.
The incident occurred while workers were removing shuttering from a newly constructed septic tank. According to reports, one worker became trapped inside, and three others entered the tank in an attempt to rescue him. All four subsequently lost consciousness. It is suspected that toxic gases inside the tank caused their deaths.
Local administrative and police officials arrived at the scene to oversee rescue operations, eventually retrieving the bodies of the deceased, identified as Bunty Baitha (alias Rakesh), Javed Alam (alias Tipu), Umesh Yadav, and Shabe Alam. All victims were residents of the same village.
