Gopalganj police seize liquor hidden inside gas cylinder

Police in Gopalganj, Bihar, have uncovered a novel liquor smuggling method involving a modified gas cylinder. During an anti-smuggling operation in the Kuchaikot police station area, authorities intercepted a motorcycle traveling from Uttar Pradesh. The motorcycle was carrying a gas cylinder covered with a sheet.

Upon inspection, officers discovered a secret compartment built inside the cylinder. Instead of gas, the compartment contained 127 bottles of 200ml liquor. The suspect was arrested, and the motorcycle was seized.

Excise Superintendent Amritesh Kumar stated that the police are currently interrogating the individual to identify the source of the alcohol and its intended destination. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the broader network and the backward and forward linkages involved in this smuggling operation.
