GOPR rescuers locate exhausted tourist on Pilska summit
On September 28, mountain rescue teams from the Beskid Group GOPR conducted a search and rescue operation for a tourist who lost his way while descending from the Pilska summit. Despite favorable weather, the individual became exhausted and unable to find the trail.
The search involved quad bikes and a patrol flight using a private helicopter provided by a local entrepreneur and GOPR rescuer. The helicopter successfully confirmed the man's exact location. After being located, the tourist was provided with food and fluids and was eventually evacuated via quad bike to the GOPR rescue station at Hala Miziowa, and subsequently to Korbielów for medical assistance. The operation concluded at 20:00.
