GoPro launches Mission 1 Pro ILS interchangeable lens cinema camera
GoPro has announced the Mission 1 Pro ILS, its first cinema camera featuring an interchangeable lens system. Designed for filmmakers and content creators, the compact 197-gram device utilizes a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) lens mount, allowing users to attach various optics ranging from wide-angle to macro lenses.
The camera is equipped with a 50MP 1-inch sensor and a GP3 processor. It supports high-resolution video capabilities, including 8K at 60fps and 4K at up to 240fps. It also features Open Gate recording modes in 8K and 4K, which utilize the full sensor area to provide greater flexibility for reframing footage in post-production.
Key technical specifications include 10-bit color, GP-Log recording, HLG HDR, and a bitrate of up to 240Mbps. For audio, the device includes four built-in microphones capable of recording 32-bit float audio to simplify editing. The camera also supports 50MP 12-bit RAW stills.
Pre-orders for the Mission 1 Pro ILS are currently available in the United States through retailers such as B&H Photo and Adorama at a price of $699.99. GoPro also launched the Mission Monitor app for iPhone and iPad, which enables remote control and advanced preview tools like Zebra Pattern and Focus Peaking.
