Goražde humanitarian group seeks funds for Nermin Efendić’s cancer treatment

The humanitarian association ‘Svjetlo grada’ in Goražde has launched a fundraising campaign to support Nermin Efendić, who has been battling plasma cell cancer since 2022. The disease, which attacks the bone marrow, has placed a significant financial burden on his family.

While the association provided the first therapy to ensure treatment was not delayed, an additional 47,000 KM is required to continue the necessary medical cycles. So far, 23,000 KM has been raised through contributions from local citizens and small businesses. Doctors report that Efendić’s body is responding well to the initial therapy, and he is currently facing a four-month treatment cycle.

Admira Hadžić, president of ‘Svjetlo grada’, is calling on the diaspora, local businesses, and the general public to contribute. Donation boxes have been placed throughout Goražde, and funds can also be provided to association volunteers or via BBI bank.
