Gorakhpur man found dead in Bihar during pilgrimage
The body of a 27-year-old man from Gorakhpur, identified as Bajrangi Nishad, was recovered in the Banka district of Bihar after he went missing during a pilgrimage to Baba Dham in Jharkhand.
Nishad had departed for Deoghar on August 3 with friends and neighbors. He was reported missing after falling behind the group during the journey. His body was discovered on August 6 in a secluded area near a pond in the Kataria region of Banka, adjacent to the Deoghar border.
Upon the body's return to Gorakhpur, Nishad's family staged a protest, blocking a road near the Charphatak overbridge to demand a thorough investigation. The family alleges that Nishad was murdered and his body subsequently dumped. Police officials have assured the protesters of a fair investigation and are currently analyzing mobile phone locations and questioning those who were traveling with him to determine the cause of death.
