Goran Bogdan returns to Rijeka stage after eight-year theater hiatus

After an eight‑year absence from the stage, acclaimed Croatian actor Goran Bogdan made his return at the HNK Ivana pl. Zajca in Rijeka, performing in the play “Kazalište” directed by French theatre maker Pascal Rambert. Bogdan described the experience as both a dream and a nightmare, saying, “I dreamed rehearsals, sometimes as a dream, sometimes as a nightmare,” and noted the huge nervous energy that accompanied his comeback.

He explained that years of film work gave him a new perspective, stating, “Seven years of film gave me a dose of real logic that I perhaps lacked in theater.” Bogdan also highlighted the role of the Rijeka theatre community, including intendant Dubravka Vrgoč, and mentioned his involvement with the publishing house Buna as part of a broader cultural mission.
