Goran Bregović: Family life, real estate, and vineyard legends
Goran Bregović, the leader and guitarist of the legendary band Bijelo dugme, has maintained a private life distinct from his musical career. His younger brother, Predrag Bregović, has chosen a quiet life away from the media, focusing on nature and producing wine and brandy in Beška, a town on the Danube.
Bregović has also built a significant real estate portfolio, reportedly owning over 30 properties including villas and apartments in locations such as Zagreb, Paris, Istanbul, and Perast, with an estimated value exceeding 35 million euros. He has attributed his drive to accumulate property to a lifelong fear of poverty.
Regarding his family inheritance, Bregović previously addressed rumors surrounding a 'cursed vineyard' in Sveti Petar Čvrstec inherited from his father, Franjo. While local legends suggested supernatural forces due to a series of tragedies following his father's death in 1996, relatives clarify that the events were a series of unfortunate human tragedies, including the suicides of workers and a fatal illness, rather than a curse.
