Goran Trenčovski promotes new book ‘Krunski panagon’ in Skopje
Writer and director Goran Trenčovski is promoting his new book, ‘Krunski panagon’, at the Antolog bookstore in Skopje. The event features Violeta Tančeva-Zlateva as the promoter and actor Nino Levi, who will read excerpts from the work.
The book consists of 22 hybrid microfictions that blend literary narrative with cinematic sensibilities regarding framing, movement, and atmosphere. The number 22 is symbolic, linked by the publisher to the 22 chapters of Revelation and the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. The stories explore themes of history, legend, personal and collective memory, and the intersection of reality and allegory.
Professor Mimosa Rajl notes in her review that Trenčovski’s background in directing influences his prose, which often functions through imagery and spatial movement. The narratives traverse Balkan and European landscapes, incorporating historical and legendary figures alongside motifs connected to Macedonia, such as Doiran, Lihnidos, and Astraion.
