Gordan Jandroković tours new Cavtat primary school, highlights €23 million EU‑funded investment

Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandroković visited the construction site of the new primary school in Cavtat, Dubrovnik‑Neretva County. He praised the project, noting that the €23 million investment is made possible by European Union funds, the national recovery plan and contributions from the county and the municipality of Konavle.

The school will feature 20 classrooms for 560 pupils and a three‑hall sports arena, with completion expected by August and occupation slated for the second half of the academic year. In a meeting with county prefect Blaž Pezo, municipal mayor Božo Lasić and other local officials, Jandroković discussed demographic challenges, transport infrastructure and further development projects funded by EU resources, emphasizing continued state support for the region’s growth.

Both officials highlighted the collaborative financing model—approximately €18 million from the national recovery plan and the remainder from the county and municipality—as a template for future investments in education, sport and community facilities across the county.
