Gordana Armenulić reflects on life with mother Silvana Armenulić

Gordana Armenulić, the daughter of the legendary folk singer Silvana Armenulić, has shared memories of her upbringing and the close bond she shared with her mother. Gordana, who was 12 years old at the time of her mother's death, recalls how Silvana often took her everywhere and encouraged her independence, such as doing her own hair and makeup.

Beyond their emotional connection, Gordana remembers learning family recipes in the kitchen, noting that her grandmother was a pastry chef. Today, Gordana is a mathematics professor at a high school in Belgrade and a mother of two sons.

Silvana Armenulić passed away in a car accident on October 10, 1976, near Kolari. The accident also claimed the lives of her sister, Mirjana Barjaktarević, and Rade Jašarević, the head of the National Orchestra of RT Belgrade.
