Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova marks Yom Kippur with message to Jewish community

North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova issued a message to the President of the Jewish Community, Pepo Levi, and all its members in observance of Yom Kippur.

In her message, the President described Yom Kippur as the holiest day in the Jewish spiritual tradition, characterized by silence, prayer, fasting, and repentance. She emphasized that human greatness lies not in perfection or sinlessness, but in the courage to admit mistakes, re-examine oneself, seek forgiveness, and find the strength to forgive others.

Siljanovska-Davkova expressed her wishes for spiritual peace, health, and prosperity for the community. She further noted that reconciliation is a fundamental human and civilizational value, calling for a Macedonian society where every individual can live their faith, tradition, and cultural identity with dignity, using differences as bridges of understanding rather than lines of division.
