Gordon Murray Automotive unveils S1 supercar

Gordon Murray Automotive has unveiled the S1, a new manual supercar presented during Monterey Car Week. Positioned as a more refined and road-oriented successor to the radical S1 LM, the S1 aims to balance high performance with touring comfort.

The vehicle features a central driving position and a three-seat configuration, echoing the design philosophy of the legendary McLaren F1. It is powered by a bespoke 4.2-liter naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 engine capable of producing up to 690 hp and reaching 12,100 rpm. Power is delivered through a six-speed manual transmission, featuring a lengthened sixth gear specifically tuned for cruising.

To improve usability on public roads, the S1 incorporates an increased ground clearance of 10 mm and softer damper settings compared to the S1 LM. The aggressive aerodynamic elements, such as the large fixed rear wing and prominent splitter, have been replaced by a cleaner silhouette utilizing integrated active rear aerodynamics. Production is strictly limited to 64 bespoke units worldwide.
