Gorham tops first Varsity Maine volleyball poll of 2026

Gorham has been ranked No. 1 in the first Varsity Maine volleyball poll of the 2026 season. The Rams enter the season as three-time consecutive Class A champions and feature returning two-time Player of the Year Liana Edwards.

Washington Academy and Scarborough are tied for second place in the rankings. Narraguagus holds the third position following three consecutive state titles in Class D and Class C. Reigning Class C champion Mount Desert Island is ranked 10th.

The poll, based on games played prior to September 8, 2026, was determined by votes from the Varsity Maine staff.
