HNK Gorica and NK Varaždin played to a dramatic 2-2 draw in the final match of the 7th round of the SuperSport HNL. The match featured several significant moments, including a debut goal and a last-second equalizer.

Bruno Bogojević opened the scoring for Gorica in the 53rd minute, but Luka Mamić quickly responded for Varaždin with a powerful strike from 20 meters. In the 85th minute, Valentin Akrap, making his debut for Varaždin, scored to give the visitors a 2-1 lead. However, Gorica secured a point in the 95th minute when Ivan Cvijanović scored following a corner and a scramble in the box.

Varaždin coach Nikola Šafarić expressed frustration over the result, noting that his team played better but was denied a victory by a late goal during extended stoppage time. He questioned the length of the added time, as the goal occurred in the 95th minute despite three minutes being initially signaled. Gorica coach Mario Carević expressed satisfaction with the point, noting the team's resilience despite their current position at the bottom of the table.
