Gorizia Interporto Sdag announces 31.5 million euro investment plan
Sdag Spa has unveiled an industrial and investment plan for the Gorizia Interporto spanning the 2027-2031 period. The 31.5 million euro program aims to strengthen the intermodal and cross-border logistics platform, positioning the hub as a vital connection point between the Port of Trieste and the Slovenian market.
The investment is divided into five key areas: real estate asset enhancement (12.90 million euros), parking and security (8.32 million euros), ecological transition and sustainability (6 million euros), the agri-food logistics hub and cold chain (2.06 million euros), and railway intermodality (2.20 million euros).
A central component of the plan is the development of the railway Lunetta, with works expected to begin between November and early December. This project will allow freight trains to connect directly to the Sdag facility, reducing bottlenecks. The initiative seeks to integrate the hub into the European Ten-T transport network and establish it as a national logistics node, supporting the approximately 85 companies currently based at the site.
