Gorod releases eighth studio album ‘The Ember Gone’

French technical death metal quintet Gorod has released their eighth studio album, titled ‘The Ember Gone’. Released digitally on August 28 through Base Productions and Season of Mist, the eight-track record marks a stylistic expansion for the band.

Guitarist and principal songwriter Mathieu Pascal self-produced the album at Bud Studio, with David Thiers handling mixing and mastering. The album moves beyond pure technicality to incorporate atmosphere, groove, and emotion, exploring themes such as environmental collapse, consumerism, and existential anxiety.

Following the release, the band is scheduled to embark on a European and UK tour alongside Allegaeon, starting September 4 in Grenoble.
