Gorontalo election commission and university leaders sign cooperation deals on voting education and legal information

The Gorontalo provincial election commission (KPU) formalised a Memorandum of Understanding and a Cooperation Agreement with Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo (UMGO) and Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo (UNUGO) on 30‑31 July 2026. The partnership covers student internships, practitioner lectures, curriculum development, joint research, community seminars and training aimed at strengthening voter literacy and improving the quality of elections in the province. The MoU was signed by KPU Chair Sophian Rahmola together with UMGO Rector Abd. Kadim Masaong and UNUGO Rector Lahaji.

Separately, on 29 July 2026 the rector of IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Faisal, hosted Ramlan Harun, head of the Legal Regulations Division of the Ministry of Law, to discuss the creation of a Legal Documentation and Information Network (JDIH) for the university. The initiative will digitalise campus regulations, rector‑issued policies and legal‑aid services, enhancing public access and supporting transparent university governance, in line with Presidential Regulation No 33/2012.
