Gorontalo Governor Spokesperson criticizes DPRD official over MSME sidewalk issue

David Radjak, the spokesperson for the Gorontalo Governor, has challenged Rivai Bukusu, the Deputy Chairman of the Gorontalo City DPRD, regarding the ongoing debate over MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) vendors selling on sidewalks at Jalan Andalas and Tanggidaa.

Radjak stated that the provincial government is not currently focusing on enforcement in those specific areas. He questioned the urgency of raising the issue without a comprehensive view of MSME empowerment and urban planning, suggesting that the sudden focus might be masking other underlying problems.

Radjak argued that true support for MSMEs should involve addressing neglected economic zones previously designated by the Gorontalo City Government. He cited the Central Market area, the complex in front of SMA Negeri 3 Gorontalo, and the Old Town area as examples of planned MSME hubs that are currently inactive and poorly maintained.
