Gorontalo medical violence and child assault cases prompt legal action

The Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) Gorontalo has issued a strong condemnation following reports of alleged threats, violence, and property damage at Siti Khadijah Hospital in Gorontalo. The incident reportedly occurred during the medical treatment of a child patient. IDI Gorontalo Chairman, Dr. Muhammad Isman Jusuf, stated that the organization will provide legal assistance and moral support to the doctors involved, emphasizing that healthcare facilities must remain safe environments.

Separately, authorities in Gorontalo are advancing a legal case involving the alleged assault of a child. After failed attempts at diversion—a mediation process for juvenile offenders—the Gorontalo City Police are preparing to transfer the case files to the local prosecutor's office. The incident, which allegedly involved the use of a wooden block, resulted in the victim suffering broken bones and loss of consciousness. The suspect in the case is reported to be the child of a member of the Boalemo Regency DPRD.
