Indonesia Fashion Week 2026 highlights UMKM designers from Gorontalo, Medan and other regions
Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2026 was held from 29 July to 2 August 2026 at the Jakarta International Convention Center. The event showcased traditional textiles such as Gorontalo’s Karawo, presented by four Bank Indonesia‑backed UMKM – House of Abhiee, Tethuna, TIAR Handycraft and D’Korsase – each employing around 50 women artisans and aiming to create modern fashion from regional fabrics.
Medan’s designers, led by the city’s Dekranasda, displayed a Four Seasons collection that blended tropical and subtropical motifs while emphasizing local cultural identity. Meanwhile, Pertamina Patra Niaga supported the runway by bringing 11 UMKM partners from across Indonesia, including Dara Baro, Guns Leather, Ramiza Boutique and others, to expand market access and promote sustainable economic development.
The combined participation of these small and medium enterprises underscored IFW’s role in promoting Indonesia’s cultural heritage, boosting regional economies and fostering collaboration between government‑linked institutions and the fashion industry.
