Gorontalo Mayor disputes provincial reports to Ministry of Home Affairs

Gorontalo Mayor Adhan Dambea has issued a formal clarification regarding several points in a report submitted by the Gorontalo Provincial Government to the Ministry of Home Affairs, claiming certain details are factually incorrect.

Addressing medical equipment for Aloei Saboe Hospital, Dambea denied allegations that the city government rejected provincial assistance. He noted that the hospital recently received 120 billion IDR in aid from the Ministry of Health and emphasized the urgent need for medical tools to support its role as a primary referral hospital.

Regarding the regulation of street vendors on Andalas and Cokroaminoto streets, the Mayor defended micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) using sidewalks. He argued that these vendors operate only at night and clear the areas by morning, ensuring pedestrian access is not hindered. Dambea compared the local situation to established culinary areas in Jakarta and expressed intention to meet with vendors to discuss provincial instructions regarding sidewalk usage.
