Gorontalo officials emphasize cultural heritage and agricultural continuity

Gorontalo Governor Gusnar Ismail attended a ceremony on October 17, 2026, to confer the Pulanga traditional title upon Gorontalo Regent Sofyan Puhi. During the event held in Limboto, Governor Ismail emphasized that the title is not merely an honor but a mandate to preserve the ancestral values and customs that define the identity of the Gorontalo people.

Separately, Regent Sofyan Puhi addressed the conclusion of the UPLAND program in Gorontalo. Following an evaluation meeting on October 16, 2026, Puhi urged continued support for local farmers, specifically regarding the development of 'pisang gapi' (a local banana commodity). He stressed that despite the program's end, the infrastructure and facilities established between 2021 and 2025 must be utilized to maintain economic benefits for farmers and meet growing industrial and nutritional demands.
