Gorontalo Governor seeks central support for Pinogu road access

Gorontalo Governor Gusnar Ismail is leading diplomatic efforts in Jakarta to accelerate road access for the isolated Pinogu District. The initiative involves strategic coordination between the Gorontalo Provincial Government, the Bone Bolango Regency Government, and central ministries.

During meetings with the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) and the Ministry of Forestry, officials discussed the expansion of the Pinogu road from two meters to six meters, covering a total length of 42 kilometers. A key challenge involves the road's path through the Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park, which requires specific forest area utilization permits.

Bappenas Minister Rachmat Pambudy has expressed support for the project, stating that the process will begin with the planning stage. Technical coordination is ongoing between regional leaders and the Deputy for Infrastructure to resolve geographical and conservation-related hurdles.
