Gorontalo Police investigate adultery report involving officer's wife

The Gorontalo City Police (Polresta Gorontalo Kota) have launched an investigation into an alleged adultery case following a viral incident at a homestay in the Limba U1 area, South Kota District.

The report was filed by a police officer, identified by the initials RM, who discovered his wife, LI, in a room with another man, identified as IB. IB is reportedly a well-known pawnshop owner in Gorontalo. Video footage of the incident, which shows the confrontation and the individuals involved, has circulated widely on social media.

Police spokesperson Ipda Aristia Gani confirmed that a formal report was received on September 20, 2026. The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) is currently conducting an investigation, which includes questioning witnesses and the parties involved to determine the legal course of action.
