Gorontalo promotes local coffee and cultural tourism
The Gorontalo region is advancing its local industries and cultural branding through major regional events. During the 2026 Hulonthalo Art & Craft Festival (HARFEST), Deputy Mayor Indra Gobel emphasized the potential of Gorontalo coffee, specifically Pinogu and Liberika varieties, to enter the national market. Gobel highlighted the need to strengthen the entire coffee supply chain, from farmers to baristas, to establish coffee as a regional identity.
Simultaneously, the Gorontalo Karnaval Karawo (GKK) 2026 has been officially recognized as part of the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2026 by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism. Governor Gusnar Ismail noted that this national recognition aims to boost tourism and support the creative economy, particularly for local Karawo artisans and MSMEs. The provincial government plans to collaborate with the private sector to ensure the event's economic sustainability and increase both domestic and international visitor numbers.
